WAAV today announced a partnership with one of the premier ambulance integration providers in the US and abroad. WAAV's AirBox cellular router will be installed alongside many other on-board devices to act as an Internet gateway for broadband data communication. The AirBox also provides a secure WiFi hotspot in and around the the ambulance. This new partnership gives WAAV global distribution into the ambulance market.

WAAV's engineering team created a custom firmware revision so the AirBox could directly interface with these other on-board devices. The AirBox is able to communicate with both wired and wireless devices, providing real-time statistics and diagnostics back to a cloud-based server.

Depending on the customer, either a single connection cellular router or a multiple connection cellular router will be offered. The multiple-connection router offers more bandwidth and multi-carrier redundancy, while the single-connection router provides an economic connectivity option for today’s ambulance fleets.
