Flexible and scalable

The AirBox is an enterprise-class router providing broadband Internet connectivity over multiple cellular networks. Designed to serve as a remote network gateway, the AirBox connects IP-based network devices such as laptops, video cameras, DVRs, and M2M hardware. Integrated dual-band WiFi can be configured as a private network or hotspot deployment, and multiple Ethernet ports enable both WAN and LAN cabled connections. The AirBox provides the best in-vehicle connectivity for fleet applications or enhances bandwidth for wired failover connections.

The superior functionality and flexibility of the AirBox is complemented by maximum connectivity and reliability. The patented AirBox Xplus cellular router integrates multiple cellular network connections for additional bandwidth, redundancy, and/or enhanced coverage area. The WAAV OS continuously monitors each connection and intelligently handles traffic, providing the finest cellular broadband experience available. The cellular WANs can be configured in load balanced, failover/preferred, or bonded modes. Load balancing allows more throughput without additional costs, while failover/preferred mode allows the majority of traffic to go to a single preferred carrier.

4G Cellular bonding

Bonding mode allows all cellular WANs to be aggregated together to form a single IP link – ideal for connections requiring the maximum throughput from all carriers without degradation from the performance of any single link.

Reliability extends beyond the multi-level system monitoring, health checks, and modem handling functions to the physical hardware design and components. The AirBox Xplus uses embedded industrial-class MiniPCIe hardware to ensure operability in the harshest application environments, and external antennas allow installations in hardened locations and enclosures.

Expanded capabilities

In addition to offering great connectivity and reliability, the AirBox Xplus also provides an abundance of user I/O. With onboard monitoring of temperature, G-force, voltage, and power consumption, as well as an array of general purpose I/Os, ADCs, I2C, RS-485, RS-232, and locking USB capabilities, the AirBox Xplus provides a platform for application-specific integration, saving the cost, space, integration, powering, and support of multiple devices.

Remote management and reports

Remote management functions enable over-the-air firmware upgrades, configuration changes, and real-time access to router performance data. The AirBox can be delivered pre-configured for your network, providing plug-and-play installation and provisioning.
